NOTICE - TI makes Major Changes to CCS v20
Code Composer Studio v20
TI made a significant change to CCS version 20. The baseline IDE has been migrated from Eclipse to Theia. While TI has supported Theia builds for a couple of years, the new IDE was merged into "CCS" towards the end of 2024.
At release (and a year later), TI does not support all of the MCU architectures used in this course.
- MSPM0 - Supported
- CC1352 - Supported
- CC2340 - Supported
- CC3220 - Not supported
- MSP432E401Y - Not supported
- C2000 - Supported
See the Workshop Datasheet for more details.
At release, this course officially supports CCS v12.
Although, we have verified that for all architectures supported by TI, our labs and examples will build using CCS v20. It's just that our step-by-step documents may not yet reflect some of the new IDE changes.
In late 2025 we plan to release a new Installation Guide and CCS tutorial for CCSv20.
But since not all TI architectures have been migrated to the new IDE, for the foreseeable future, we will need to support both versions of the IDE.
We neither encourage or discourage those wanting to explore the new version of CCS.
Take Care,
Scott & Eric
